Venezuelan Socialist Dictator Maduro Rounds Up Political Opponents

Venezuelan Socialist President Nicolás Maduro, who lost the election on July 28, still remains in power today and is now arresting anyone who protests him, including children and their lawyers.

Venezuela held elections that resulted in Maduro losing to his opponent Edmundo González by 2-1.

Maduro threatened Venezuela with a “blood bath” if he lost the election. The day after the election, Venezuela blew up into protests. Nicolás Maduro responded by acting upon his threat, where at least two dozen people were shot to death; one was 15.

Nicholás Maduro is not a president. Let’s call him for what he is: a Dictator of Venezuela.

Washington Posts reports:

While independent exit polling and voting machine receipts suggest challenger Edmundo González defeated Maduro by a 2-1 margin, the autocrat has declared himself the winner and unleashed a wave of violent repression that rights advocates say is the worst yet under the socialist state founded 25 years ago by Hugo Chávez.

Dictator Nicolás Maduro is proud to have arrested more than 2,000 political opponents and peaceful protesters, by labeling them as terrorist for simply protesting the results of the election and demanding fair elections for their country.

The security forces of Venezuelan Socialist Dictator Maduro have arrested children as young as 13, rights advocates say.

They have even arrested their lawyers.

According to Juanita Goebertus, Americas director for Human Rights Watch: “This is not just a clampdown on demonstrators. It’s a full witch hunt against anyone who dares criticize the government.”

Washington Post also reports:

Venezuela has experienced waves of unrest and mass detentions in the past; Maduro was already being investigated by the International Criminal Court for the alleged torture and extrajudicial killing of political opponents. But rights groups say this is the most political prisoners registered in a single campaign.

What we are witnessing today is a real life and current example of the grave dangers of a socialist regime.

The beautiful people of Venezuela are suffering under the oppression of a Socialist Dictator who refuses to abdicate his power and control over their government, and continues to rule over them despite losing an election to Edmundo González, by more than twice as many voters.

The fate of the once rich and prosperous nation of Venezuela rests in the hands of Venezuelans who want for a better way of life. It is up to them to rise against their Tyrant and fight for a better leader. This only continues to show that their elections are no longer a path towards better change.

Elections aren’t working for them.

Thomas Jefferson once said: "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

So far, only the blood of their patriots have been spilled.
